Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Targeted to Become the Capital in 2029
The Presidential Palace revealed that the target for Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) to become the capital city is set for 2029. This comes after the completion of the legislative and judiciary buildings. The statement was made by the Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, in response to President Prabowo Subianto’s plan to soon start working from IKN.
President Prabowo stated that the government’s relocation to IKN will happen once it can function as the political capital, accommodating the executive, legislative, and judiciary branches.
Hasan Nasbi assured that the development of IKN will continue. If all goes smoothly, the construction of the legislative and judiciary buildings will be completed during Prabowo’s leadership, and IKN will officially be the political capital by 2029.
